University Yoga provides space where all ages and levels may practice
yoga together whether or not they have money, a yoga mat, or experience. This is a place for yoga students to feel welcome to practice alongside professionals, college students, and others as equals. It is a gesture of acceptance; it is a full restoration into society. Everyone has a place. The Charities: We choose local. We take care of our own. It takes a village. Weekly classes are all by donation. 50% of proceeds from each month are used to fund a local charitable cause. For our first month we will be raising funds to purchase new, quality yoga mats for the youths in the local Juvenile Detention Center. The Causes: Serving the underserved The donations from our last 3 months will be used to purchase and help operate another by-donation yoga studio in South Tucson, and to provide yoga mats to the youth in the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center.
