Ananda is located in Greenwich, Connecticut and was founded by Dr. Maria LaPutt. She has a clinical doctorate in physical therapy from NYU and has over a decade of real-world experience as a licensed physical therapist. Maria’s own personal health and healing journey prompted her to become an expert therapist in the John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®. She is also a Certified Pilates Teacher in the Polestar® Pilates for Rehabilitation system. She is a registered yoga teacher and has practiced yoga for more than a decade.

Located on The Post Road, the Westport location is the culmination of our dream community center. This 10,000 square foot center offers 4 yoga studios, an organic café, a range of family services, and more. Upstairs, the two yoga rooms offer a diverse schedule of classes. You can relax after class while nourishing your body at our full organic café. The nearby retail space features yoga gear, holistic products, a large library of books and a sitting area. Downstairs, you can suspend in perfect alignment in the Iyengar Rope Wall Studio or sweat it out in the hot yoga room. The Yoga Teachers Association is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to continuing and improving the
quality of Hatha Yoga teaching in accordance with the high standards of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and as developed by great yoga masters. Based in Westchester, N.Y., the YTA serves members from the tri-state area. Currently, membership totals more than 200 yoga teachers and serious students of yoga.

Wainwright house is the oldest holistic center in the US. While we have classes in spiritual exploration, creativity,
health and well-being and the environment, we conduct classes in yoga and movement. A member, at the donor level of $300 annually, can take all yoga and movement classes for free for a year. Currently Maryam leads intermediate vigorous and nurturing yoga classes in White Plains, with focus on the breath
and alignment. She encourages the students to approach their practice with a sense of play, mindfulness and lack of judgment. The classes are during lunch time and last about 1 hour and fifteen minutes (walk in price - $12). Private classes can also be arranged.
Maryam is a certified yoga instructor from Om Yoga Center in NYC, and has received teacher training from various master teachers. She leads international yoga retreats (in Costa Rica, Mexico and elsewhere).
