I grew up surrounded by the practice of yoga. My Mother has been a yoga teacher for over 20 years.Last year, I recognized
the true meaning of yoga in my own mind, body, soul, and heart. I envisioned myself teaching yoga and quickly began my new journey of becoming a teacher. I have never felt as balanced (physically, mentally, and spiritually), confident, and aware as I am now. Yoga has been my medicine in times of anxiety, insecurity, and frustration. Yoga makes me a more complete person, breath by breath, movement by movement, and moment by moment. Through my practice of yoga, I have developed a deeper and more honest relationship with myself. One of the yogic guidelines called Satya (truth, integrity, honest expression, owning feelings, conscious communication) has been the most powerful tool for me.
“Living the life that cries to be lived from the depth of our being frees up our energy and vitality. The juices flow. Everyone around us benefits from the aliveness that we feel.”- Deborah Adele, The Yamas and Niyamas
I hope to bring healing and inspiration to my community through yoga. I was trained in Kripalu yoga; a practice of transformation through compassion, self-acceptance, honesty and relaxation. The inclusion of yoga philosophy in my classes reinforces intentions and a more thorough understanding of the yogic lifestyle and lineage. I trust that through a consistent yoga practice, great gains are possible in every aspect of life. With a background in dance, I offer classes that are gracefully empowering while also gently nurturing to the spirit. Come practice with me as we connect to the power of our truth and enjoy the bliss of life!
I invite you to join my Mother and I as we lead a one-of-a-kind magical yoga retreat in Mexico this February! Click the following link to find out more: http://mobiusproductsandservices.com/pages.asp?region=22
Steve leads a spiritual yoga practice based on the teachings of his Guru Paramhansa Yogananda who reeled him in 16
years ago. Practices include Master's unique "Energization Exercises," a challenging yet devotional Sun Salutation series, Asana, Maha Mudra and prep steps for Kriya Meditation. His athletic background started with gymnastics and moved into a long accomplished career in wrestling. Most of his life has been spent on some kind of board. When Steve's love for snowboarding deepened and wrestling gave way to rock climbing, he began spending serious time in the mountains and ended up working as a professional guide in the Pacific NW for 10 years. Learning, teaching and leading people in all types of mountain environments, Steve began developing his ability to effectively communicate various body movement skills.
In 2004 Steve completed the Ananda Yoga RYT 200 program and very soon after experienced a life shifting tragedy while guiding in Alaska. The very next year his mother died suddenly. Another climb in AK needed to wait for a bit. Within 4 months Steve was in Hawaii healing & helping build a spiritual, sustainable community based on Yogananda's teachings. He also works for Hawaii State in the Dept. of Health and just became a father this year. It's a pretty neat time to take a class from Steve. Since 2004 he's completed enough training for RYT 500 but his practice and teaching veered a bit from Ananda Yoga. Over the past 5 years Steve has been working on a magnetic series & is enthusiastic to share with all levels of practitioners.
