Set in the heart of the historic Catskill Mountains of
New York State and surrounded by a national forest preserve, the retreat center offers complete privacy in a tranquil setting. Its modern and comfortable facilities on 320 acres are an ideal setting for yoga retreats and teacher trainings. For over a century this secluded valley at the foot of Pantherkill Mountain has been a source of renewal and inspiration.
The Kessler Yoga Studio is Menla's premiere yoga space. Located in a secluded meadow and fully stocked with yoga mats, blankets, and props, the 1,760 square foot studio features a bamboo floor and floor to ceiling windows; it is an exquisite space for yoga practice.
For larger groups, the Main Hall in the Nalanda Conference center is 4,048 square feet, with oak floors and radiant heat. The Lhasa Cafe and lounge are located withing the Nalanda Conference Center for relaxing and socializing during breaks.
The Vintage Barn has high vaulted ceilings and oak hardwood floors. At 1,680 square feet, the Barn is suitable for medium-sized groups and programs.
The Sanctuary, built specifically for contemplative workshops, is an exquisite setting for a more intimate experience. This seven-sided wooden structure with floor to ceiling windows is 900 square feet and features mountain views. Menla can house up to 100 guests in a variety of eco-friendly housing options, including camping. Three gourmet vegetarian meals are served daily. Other highlights include: wellness services; fitness center; swimming pool; tennis courts; sauna; hiking trails.
Abby Heijnen is a certified 200hr and Advanced 500hr, Registered and Insured Kripalu Yoga teacher offering classes,
workshops, private classes, yoga parties in your home! Kripalu yoga is for all body types, all ages and every level of experience. Emphasis is on thorough warm ups, breath with movement and proper individual posture alignment (no two bodies are alike!) in a slow flow of creative sequences to great music and a guided final relaxation.

a range of yoga asana steeped in Indian tradition, with a foundation rooted in the healing and transformative powers of Yoga. Our goal is to honor these ancient teachings while bringing them to you in an exciting and modern way. Owner Barbara Boris has been teaching for over twenty years and practicing for over thirty, and is the only Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor in Woodstock. She and other talented teachers offer decades of experience and a wide range of classes and styles, as well as events, workshops and private sessions and Indian Classical Music Concerts. To ensure that yoga remains accessible to all, many reduced-price community classes are offered each week. The studio also includes a newly expanded yoga boutique, where you can find yoga props and books, clothing, Young Living oils and other carefully curated items. Our doors are always open to explore the paths of grace and self-effort leading you to the light and love within.
Through teaching yoga, meditation and relaxation techniques, Karen's intention is to give students the opportunity
to grow older gracefully by learning to release tension in their minds and bodies. She encourages students to deepen their connection to their bodies, their minds and their essential nature - bliss - on a daily basis.
Our studio offers a variety of classes including Kids Yoga, Prenatal yoga, Astanga yoga, creative flow, Hot Yoga,
vinyasa flow, Gentle Stretch, Belly Dancing, Meditation, Reiki Classes and treatments and massage, also Cardio Sculpt classes. We have a variety of teachers to keep the classes interesting and diverse. Our prices are the lowest in the tri-state area. Our emphasis has always been to offer a quality class with fewer people and reasonable rates. We are located in the historic district of downtown Cobleskill above Impress T Shirts. We have mats for sale and mats for the general public to use. We offer props such as blocks, sandbags, belts, and bolsters.
