Isn't it time to treat yourself? Senior yoga classes are great for stress reduction and alleviating minor aches and
pains. No prior yoga experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a mat and join us for an hour of full-body stretching. Each session starts with centering breathing in a seated position on the floor. We move to hands and knees for some warmup poses, then to standing and finally finish with a fantastic guided relaxation. Senior yoga classes are open to all seniors, 55 and older, and are held at the Ray Hopkins Mauldin Senior Center (203 Corn Road near Mauldin High School). No membership required. We meet weekly on Mondays at 1:30pm and Thursdays at 10am, and we follow the city holiday/inclement weather schedule for closings. Classes cost just $2 each.
At Southern Om, we offer a two vigorous styles of yoga: Southern Flow in a room heated to about 95°, and Southern
26 where the room is approximately 105°. These types of yoga are designed to challenge the body. So what does that mean if you are a beginner? It means you'll love it. You can modify every pose and know that you are getting one of the best practices of your life. This intense practice transforms your body and mind. It works.
