(South Okanagan Yoga Academy) Yoga Teacher Training
Program. Each summer we offer a Yoga Alliance registered RYT200 Yoga Teacher Training Program. It is designed for those who wish to immerse themselves in their yoga practice and live it fully for two weeks.
Harmony Yoga Pilates Studio offers an RYT300 Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program registered with Yoga Alliance. Program is open to yoga teachers who have previously completed any 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. With the completion of this program, you achieve your RYT500 status with Yoga Alliance, if you have already completed an RYT200 Yoga Alliance Registered Program.
Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program Focus: Yoga Therapy usually includes working with students on a one-to-one basis or in small group setting. Therapy is prescribed on an individual basis to meet student's needs and to benefit their healing process and to create body balance. Students are prescribed different asanas, pranayamas, mudras, meditations and other relaxation techniques to increase the flow of prana and energy. Mantra Therapy (spiritual formulas/sacred sanskrit words) are also prescribed for healing, abundance and removal of obstacles to help students with physical, mental and emotional difficulties.
Harmony offers hatha yoga classes for all levels (beginner to advanced) and for all ages(preschool to adult). Gentle, prenatal, postnatal and many specialty classes offered such as chakra yoga, chanting, mantra and guided meditations. Yoga therapy private sessions available. Yoga/Pilates Fusion classes available to increase both core strength, flexibility and to make the mind-body-spirit connection. Pilates classes also available. The Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training program offers students in-depth skills to teach Yoga as a vehicle for total
wellness and utilizes the Integrative Yoga Therapy curriculum from the lineage of Joseph and Lillian Le Page, both visionary leaders in the field of Yoga Therapy. This training provides a solid foundation in Hatha Yoga and includes 200 hours of instruction and practice in Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Philosophy, Practical Anatomy/Physiology, Therapeutic Alignment Principles, Hands-on and Verbal Adjustments, and the Art of Teaching.
