Wycombe Judo Centre, Barry Close and private tuition for those who want to give special focus to their practice. Uplifting and flowing, my classes are based on the Sivananda style of hatha yoga. Blending specific pranayama (breathing techniques) to quiet the mind with energising and restorative asanas (postures) to nourish and strengthen the body, closing with deep and peaceful relaxation to increase feelings of vitality and rejuvenation.

I am a highly qualified and experienced yoga teacher. I have been studying yoga for over 25 years, and teaching for
more than 14 years. I am a member of the Association of Independent Yoga Practitioners (AIYP). I currently teach yoga in the areas of Princes Risborough, Bledlow Ridge, and Beaconsfield.
My classes are attended by both men and women, of all ages, and mixed ability. Two of my students have recently gone on to become teachers, and I teach many qualified teachers in my classes. I also teach pregnant women, either in these classes or separately, depending on their needs.
I begin my classes with deep relaxation. My yoga teaching centres on the individual; it specifically approaches the needs of each person. We discard the surplus tension in the body and mind, allowing you to become calmer and more focussed, and better able to explore the infinite benefits yoga offers.

Barbara teaches yoga classes, one-to-one lessons and yoga therapy in the Amersham area, including The Orchard Clinic
in Amersham and The Bagnall Centre in Chesham. She holds a British Wheel of Yoga diploma and is a registered Teacher with the Association for Yoga Studies (aYs)- for viniyoga. Viniyoga emphasises the co-ordination of movement and breath in postures and appropriate individual adaptation. Barbara is a registered Yoga Therapist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and teaches Yoga for Healthy Lower Back classes which are specifically for low back pain. She started practising yoga in 1984 and teaching yoga in 1997.
