The physical practice
of Ashtanga Yoga consists of a powerful sequence of yoga poses, linked by breath and designed to purify and strengthen the body and to calm the mind. Self-practice classes are a beautiful way to learn this system, as each student practises at their own pace with individual guidance and instruction from the teacher where necessary. This approach allows students to practise in a more self-responsible way and to go deeper into their own personal yoga journey. We also offer monthly beginners weeks for those completely new to Ashtanga.
Martin teaches Hatha Flow Yoga which via a series of linked postures, internal dynamics and breathing techniques,
encourages a deeper understanding and control of the physical body. This process of enquiry, adjustment and acceptance brings about a spontaneous shift in the way that we think about the body and how we use it. The physical practice, concentration, awareness and graceful expression of yoga posture brings together disparate elements of our being and expresses them harmoniously. This articulation systematically releases layers of tension and generates a calming and uplifting sense of well being.
For the beginner, there is a balanced introduction to the benefits of specific yoga techniques and for the more experienced, an anatomical focus to help build on the stunning simplicity of this practice.
All classes are 90 minutes long, cost ?5 or less and yoga mats are available (although it's best to bring your own), blocks and belts are provided. Spaces are limited so please come at least 10 minutes early with an empty tummy and an open mind!
Yoga in Cambridge offers adult yoga classes for beginners and those with some experience. All classes aim to strengthen,
stretch and tone your body, improving your alignment and posture. All classes include sun salutations, asana, breathing exercises and guided relaxation to help to release tension and ease the body and mind.
Anna focuses on each individual and her classes are never repetitive. She also offers individual yoga therapy sessions to address specific health issues, be they physical, mental and/or emotional. She has also specialised in pre- and postnatal yoga, baby yoga and toddler yoga. Classes are held in the Romsey / Cherry Hinton Road area of Cambridge, CB1. I have been practicing yoga for a long time, and it has become an integral part of my outlook on life. I see yoga as a deeply personal, non-competitive experience, equally suited to all levels of experience and ability.
My classes are characterised by four key elements.
The first is the connection between breathing and movement. Focusing on your breathing encourages you to focus on your own body rather than those around you, making you more aware of its strengths but also its limits.
The second is precise alignment which I usually provide with hand assists and adjustments. By moving around the class as I teach, I will help you align so you can build memory muscle to bring your practice safely outside the studios.
The third is mindfulness. As you focus on understanding your body and precisely align your body for your movements, you are encouraged to understand yoga as a personal journey of physical and mental fulfilment and improvement.
And the fourth is self-appreciation. Everyone has their own journey in life and in yoga, but all living bodies are a wonder. Appreciate yours not what it can’t do, but for what it can.

"the regenerator"... is a yoga, pilates and relaxation blend class. I have used my 10 years experience as a personal
trainer to create this session that will leave you feeling strengthened, stretched and relaxed from the inside out. Expect lower back pain management techniques to be included also. The class is open to men and women of all abilities and that are above the age of 18. No previous experience of either disciplines are required, just bring a mat (if you have one) and an open mind.

Linda provides group classes,(including one for men only) one-to-one sessions and workshops.Classes currently running
in Harrold, Olney, Grendon and Cranfield University. Group classes include asanas, vinyasas, pranayama and relaxation in an atmosphere of fun and encouragement. Modifications and extensions to postures enable client groups of mixed ability to work at their own level and develop their yoga at an appropriate pace.
