present this knowledge in its original, whole and undiluted practical form for the benefit of all practioners and teachers. Both hatha yoga (the science of body) as given by the Nath gurus and raja yoga ( the science of mind) as given by Patanjali. The organization was established to make available to a wider public, the guidance of A.L.V. Kumar, recognized as an inspirational leader and accomplished yoga master.

“Where we put our attention, that’s where energy goes.”
How do we steady our thoughts, quiet our hearts and speak
with clarity and purpose, when we are engaged in something that often feels stressful, difficult, and unsettling?
By practicing just a few yoga principles and techniques, ones that can be applied easily to any fears and phobias, (e.g. stress of public speaking) you will be able to help steady the mind, calm the heart and communicate with clarity and purpose:
Staying present gives greater access to what you know, what you want to say and allows more space to make choices and decisions on how to respond to what’s happening in the moment. Attending to physical sensations rather than emotional ones and maintain an attitude of gentle curiosity, open to discovery when speaking rather than trying to be perfect, you'll feel more alive, engaged and engaging.
If we approach any stressful event with the same kind and gentle attitude, then we'll find opportunities for equanimity and clarity.
KanBe Yoga is a concept that everyone KanBe Yoga. Yoga means union and treats the mind, body and soul as one. Yoga
is not for a select few, we are all connected and we all KanBe Yoga. If mind, body and soul are one, then working on any of the three will impact the others. Everyone has their own path in life; Yoga should be adaptable, why else would there be so many kinds?
KanBe Yoga is taught by Kandy; who teaches privately and also runs classes in London.
She tailors her sessions to the client's needs, based on their health & fitness level, lifestyle and outlook. A multi-disciplinary teacher, she focuses on the individual and provides bespoke sessions. Her teaching methods have proven to be very popular amongst her private clients who always provide positive feedback and endorse the personal nature of her sessions and the results they bring. We are all unique, why should our yoga practice be any different?
Having spent years practicing, learning and, ultimately, teaching yoga; she has also spent many years in the Investment Banking industry. This experience helps to balance her teaching as she understands the pressures and demands of modern Western life; and truly appreciates the balance that yoga and holistic therapy can bring to body, mind and soul.
I am a qualified yoga teacher and I started teaching in September 2001. I have been practicing yoga for more than 15
years and self-practicing astanga since 1999. I believe that yoga is accessible to all of us and through regular practice we can experience profound changes in our mind and body. I came to yoga (like so many of us) with an inflexible body and a stressed, scattered mind. My own experience has taught me that yoga is an enjoyable way to release and make available energetic potential within our bodies and our minds. We can become more flexible, physically stronger and improve our stamina, concentration, focus and awareness.
The Yoga class I teach is Traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga influenced, on a practical level, by the teaching of the Bihar
School of Yoga (Swami Satyananda saraswati) and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (Desikachar) but also influenced by Ayurveda, Tantra (Sri Vidya/Kashmiri Shivaism) and Advaita Vedanta. It’s adaptable to the need of the individual and include dynamic and static Asana (yoga poses), Pranayama (breathing exercises), Mudra, Bandha and meditation techniques.

At Stretching the City, we don’t think yoga should be intimidating or exclusive. We don't think it's religious and it's certainly not just for girls. It's not too easy, slow or boring (try one of our ashtanga or vinyasa flow classes if you don't believe us) and we don't believe that by practicing yoga you need to abandon other things that you enjoy doing - be that going to the gym or a night out on the town.
The Stretching the City team comprises of yoga teachers who share these beliefs and wish to teach yoga to people who would benefit from a quieter mind and a healthier body to better navigate the stresses of city living.
It's with this in mind that we provide affordable and accessible yoga classes and courses, so more people can enjoy the plentiful benefits of yoga – without worrying about being able to touch their toes.

I am a +500-hr Yoga Alliance certified teacher and therapist. I’ve practiced yoga since the age of 14. My training
and teaching experience allows me to combine traditional Indian Yoga styles with a contemporary western approach to authentically help guide others to find their own love for, and benefits from Yoga. I honour my teachers Shane Perkins, Dr Senthil, Shiva Rea, Jivamukti, Richard Freeman and Edward Clark. I teach a wide range of people, from professional cage fighters, footballers, snowboarders to pregnant ladies, kids and the over-50's.
My teaching is spontaneous, light-hearted and I aim to adapt to meet the energies and needs of the group. Music is a prominent feature of the class and sequences flow with rhythm and beat. Classes can be dynamic and uplifting yet always move towards inner stillness.
Yoga is an integral part of me and I strive to continually learn. I teach from the heart and only from personal experience. It is an honour to share this ancient science and art with others.
I teach vinyasa yoga, a sequence of yoga asanas (postures) linked together in a flow. The rhythm of the movement is
guided by the breath, our life force, and the use of music and inquiry allows you to go deeper. I believe that there is much more in life than what is on the surface. Underneath our skin there is a full physical system made of muscles, bones, organs...that keeps the surface alive. Underneath that system there is what keeps us alive, the creative energy of the life cycle. Reconnecting with the creative power inside us is reconnecting with the universal power. Infinite power is inside us. This is what I teach: starting from the body, how to touch and stay connected with the universal power inside us. I offer group, corporate and 1-2-1 tuition in London. My group classes are in Waterloo SE1 and Walworth SE17.

Yoga offers a wonderful opportunity to understand our bodies better, inhabiting them with grace and comfort, to enjoy
it and treat it with the love and care which we all deserve. As a lover of all learning, and a pragmatist I've trained in many different styles, including Sivananda, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Kundalini, Bikram, Acroyoga and Yoga Synergy, before finally settling into a committed daily Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. I believe passionately that this practice is suitable for everyone. I teach you the sequence in a way that enables and encourages you to be able to practice on your own, whenever and wherever you wish. This allows you to absorb it as a daily practice, giving you strength, flexibility and a quiet mind. I would encourage you to get in touch either by phone, or email to hear more on how it could be relevant to you. I am based in Streatham Hill and travel to teach throughout London. I am certified through Vibrant Living Yoga and John Scott.
