Training in IYM, you will work with your mind as much as your body, showing you how to unlock your flexibility and
how to work with your stiffest muscle, the one between your ears. We will teach you about 1st and 2nd brain intelligence and how to listen and communicate using both – in standalone mindfulness practices and IYM sequences. This approach develops a toolkit for you and your future students to self-reference in all actions and activities.
Hugh Poulton and Sarah Haden are developers of IYM. Their outside the box approach is a product of Hugh’s 30+ years of yoga + mindfulness experience and Sarah’s contemporary perspective.
Daily classes in Stratford upon Avon and Wellesbourne, workshops, retreats. The style is classical Hatha Yoga, with
attention to alignment, breath and awareness. Open and level 1-2, and intermediate classes draw on the teachings of Ayurveda and the Raja Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Beginners classes give a good grounding in yoga posture practice, breathing practice, and deep relaxation, with a little theory to support understanding of the practices.

My classes explore the relationship between the spine, gravity and the breath. Working to undo tightness and release
tension, the body becomes more fluid. We begin to better understand our body - why it can easily move into one asana but not into another; how our breath can assist in movement. Little by little, the body moves more easily and without restriction.
Classes always begin with a quiet period - a time to begin to leave the 'external me' and start to concentrate on the 'internal me'. After our practice, the class ends with relaxation or meditation.

I gained my teacher training diploma with the Devon School of Yoga in 2007 and then went on to qualify as a Yoga
Therapist, certified by Real Yoga, in 2012. I am registered with the Complimentary and Natural Health Care Council (CNHC). Over the years I have also attended several short courses and workshops with Yoga Campus, London. These courses have been based around the workings of the musculoskeletal system and the correction of bodily imbalances that can be prominent due to general wear and tear or injury. I teach approximately 60 – 70 people a week over several general classes and also offer one to one or small group sessions for those who want a more personal approach, or simply do not have the time to join a regular class. I also run a specialist weekly class for people with MS, and work therapeutically with people one to one. Currently, I also teach people to become yoga teachers and yoga teachers to become yoga therapists for Real Yoga. Recently completing The Award in Education and Training at Heart of Worcester College, partnered with The University of Warwick.
