"I’ve been lucky enough to have Simon as a yoga teacher for nearly two years, and I really miss the weeks when I can’t make his lesson. He’s calm, encouraging and supportive, knowing where each student’s edge is. His classes are well thought out, challenging, never boring and always fun - you never fail to leave a session without a smile on your face and a spring in your step. I can’t recommend Simon’s classes highly enough!" Sally C
The Life Centre is a friendly haven, where yoga, Pilates and natural therapies inspire well-being in the communities
of Notting Hill and Islington, and for our many visitors from further afield - we love how our community spirit lifts everyone working or visiting here.
We know how vital it is to have the best teachers and therapists and to offer a fantastic choice of yoga styles and therapies. We understand how to nurture relationships in our specialised pregnancy, and mums & babies classes, and how to ease newcomers into a regular practice, with our beginners’ courses. Plus, we run exciting workshops with resident and guest teachers whose experience and imagination brings a freshness to yoga on each occasion.
Our history Founded in Notting Hill 1993, The Life Centre is one of London’s oldest centres dedicated to yoga, Pilates and therapies. Over the years, many (maybe even most) of the UK’s top yoga and Pilates teachers have passed through the big wooden door of our Notting Hill centre, a beautiful quiet converted house and chapel – and several of our earliest students (and some of our original teachers and staff) are still Life Centre regulars. In 2011, we were delighted to open our second location, in Islington, a bright and cheery space with 2 large studios in a converted warehouse which offers a similarly broad range of classes to those in Notting Hill. In addition, in 2003, we set up our yoga education arm, Yogacampus, which offers one of the UK’s very top yoga teacher training programmes, as well as a wide range of other specialist courses and workshops.

present this knowledge in its original, whole and undiluted practical form for the benefit of all practioners and teachers. Both hatha yoga (the science of body) as given by the Nath gurus and raja yoga ( the science of mind) as given by Patanjali. The organization was established to make available to a wider public, the guidance of A.L.V. Kumar, recognized as an inspirational leader and accomplished yoga master.
We offer two silent meditation and yoga retreats per year, a 15 day winter course at a peaceful resort in the forest of Karnataka, S. India and a 10 day course in the UK in August. Kumar is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor and offers RYT-200 and RYT-500 certification teacher training courses. In Hyderabad he teaches large scale free public yoga and health awareness workshops. He was recently honored with the Bharat Jyoti Award and the Glory of India Award for his meritorious public service in the field of yoga.
Kumar has been a lifelong practitioner of yoga and meditation. His interest in teaching came about as a result of a car crash that resulted in complete paralysis of the lower body. He used his knowledge of yoga to completely heal himself. Following this experience he decided to dedicate as much time as possible to teaching yoga to heal both body and mind.

Public and Private Yoga Session in North London N10, N2, N8, N6 (Muswell Hill, East Finchley, Crouch End, Highgate)
classes in dynamic hatha yoga for students with all experience. We will work on strength and flexibility in equal balance. Each class had themed around a particular physical alignment principle as well as a specific theme, providing opportunity to connect to ourselves on and off the mat.
I am a qualified yoga teacher and I started teaching in September 2001. I have been practicing yoga for more than 15
years and self-practicing astanga since 1999. I believe that yoga is accessible to all of us and through regular practice we can experience profound changes in our mind and body. I came to yoga (like so many of us) with an inflexible body and a stressed, scattered mind. My own experience has taught me that yoga is an enjoyable way to release and make available energetic potential within our bodies and our minds. We can become more flexible, physically stronger and improve our stamina, concentration, focus and awareness.
KanBe Yoga is a concept that everyone KanBe Yoga. Yoga means union and treats the mind, body and soul as one. Yoga
is not for a select few, we are all connected and we all KanBe Yoga. If mind, body and soul are one, then working on any of the three will impact the others. Everyone has their own path in life; Yoga should be adaptable, why else would there be so many kinds?
KanBe Yoga is taught by Kandy; who teaches privately and also runs classes in London.
She tailors her sessions to the client's needs, based on their health & fitness level, lifestyle and outlook. A multi-disciplinary teacher, she focuses on the individual and provides bespoke sessions. Her teaching methods have proven to be very popular amongst her private clients who always provide positive feedback and endorse the personal nature of her sessions and the results they bring. We are all unique, why should our yoga practice be any different?
Having spent years practicing, learning and, ultimately, teaching yoga; she has also spent many years in the Investment Banking industry. This experience helps to balance her teaching as she understands the pressures and demands of modern Western life; and truly appreciates the balance that yoga and holistic therapy can bring to body, mind and soul.
“Where we put our attention, that’s where energy goes.”
How do we steady our thoughts, quiet our hearts and speak
with clarity and purpose, when we are engaged in something that often feels stressful, difficult, and unsettling?
By practicing just a few yoga principles and techniques, ones that can be applied easily to any fears and phobias, (e.g. stress of public speaking) you will be able to help steady the mind, calm the heart and communicate with clarity and purpose:
Staying present gives greater access to what you know, what you want to say and allows more space to make choices and decisions on how to respond to what’s happening in the moment. Attending to physical sensations rather than emotional ones and maintain an attitude of gentle curiosity, open to discovery when speaking rather than trying to be perfect, you'll feel more alive, engaged and engaging.
If we approach any stressful event with the same kind and gentle attitude, then we'll find opportunities for equanimity and clarity.
Classes with me are simply about looking after your body and reducing physical and mental stress. We breathe, stretch,
strengthen and deeply relax.
I combine breathing techniques with flowing movements, safe alignment and pilates exercises. This creates a holistic session in which we intelligently mobilise, strengthen and stretch the body, take the mind away from “to do” lists and allow space to relax, restore and re-energise.

KB Yoga was formed in 2004 by Kelly Bunyan. As the Chief Instructor of KB Kickboxing and KB Kung Fu, Kelly decided
that offering a complementary practice would be highly beneficial for both her existing and potential members.
Not everybody is attracted to the high energy, cardiovascular workout of Kickboxing, nor the self defence training that Kung Fu offers. So to cater to the needs of those people seeking an alternative form of exercise Astanga Yoga was introduced to the monthly schedule. There is an air of relaxed informality which offers an opportunity for an enjoyable experience. Our instructors are highly qualified and approachable, creating a friendly, safe space to exercise in.

I teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga, which uses the same principles and poses as Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (the style that became
famous through Sri K Pattabhi Jois, & also because Madonna was doing it!), but it's not as structured and you are in constant movement w/ the breath thus creating a lot of warmth & body heat ;) all in all a great treat for the body and mind....

Good Vibes is more than just a fitness studio. It is a place dedicated to the enjoyment that positive, fun and thoughtful
exercise creates. We are not interested in anonymous or corporate, instead we hope to inspire people to exercise because it’s better for their minds as well their bodies. So coming to our classes will make you fitter, but they’ll also make you happier too. We’re small but we’re perfectly formed with a studio for Power Plates, Glow Yoga and Spincycle. We love the atmosphere that the sociability of great classes creates and firmly believe that feeling fantastic is about generating positivity and joy together, not working in isolation. We’ve gone to great lengths to create spaces that are a pleasure to be in and help you to get the most from your class. So that means Europe’s first infra-red studio, to maximise the benefits for your mind and body, and it means a look and feel that you wouldn’t normally expect from a ‘gym’, like wooden panelling, swooping murals and a dash of joy . It doesn’t mean row upon row of people doing their own thing. We have built Good Vibes around three classes that do just that, create good vibes: Glow Yoga, flow Yoga and Pilates classes that build inner strength as well as long, lean bodies Power Plates for 25 minute full body workouts Spincycle to get your heart racing and the endorphins pumping! How you choose to divide your time between those classes depends on what you enjoy doing and what you want to achieve. We want everyone to enjoy classes that are welcoming and fun so we’ve made it as easy as possible to get involved and are flexible to be able to suit different schedules and needs. That’s why there are no membership fees and we offer different buying options from one-offs to as-much-as-you-like for a few months. So whether you’re an exercise expert or an exercise beginner, we will help you to fit a better body and a better mind into your life.
