Vinyasa Krama Yoga is for everybody. It is adaptable and can be modified so that you can start from wherever you
are and make progress. Mondays 19.30-20.30pm at Devon Hills, Totnes Rd Wednesdays 12.30-13.30pm at Luton House, Brixham Rd Classes include asana, pranayama and meditation. I teach according to the sequences outlined by Ramaswami in The Complete Book of Vinyasa Yoga. Each movement is supported by breath and connected in a flowing sequence. Benefits include increased flexibility, strength and endurance in all body parts; improved relaxation, peace of mind, clarity, and sleep, and decreased mental anxiety and physical pain.
I have been practicing Yoga for the last 14 years, 11 of those under the guidance of Bill Wood, under whom I also
did my Teacher training. The Yoga we practice is inspired by Vanda Scaravelli, who was a personal student of both Iyengar and Krishnamurti. The resulting practice is very much her own creation, one which affirms the body's inner knowing, fluidity, grace, poetry. Over the last 5 years I have been teaching Yoga alongside working as a doctor, Academic Tutor, GP mentor, Small Group Facilitator at Plymouth University.
A yoga teacher since 1994, Bill has been most inspired by Diane Long, a long time student of the late Vanda Scaravelli,
who he has been studying with since 1996.
He teaches groups and private classes in south Devon, weekend workshops all around the UK, and has run Yoga Teacher Training Courses in Bristol and Totnes.
Bill also has a long history of involvement in meditation and psychotherapy, both of which continually inform and inspire his approach to yoga in its broader sense. He also has a psychotherapy practice, working from his home in south Devon.
Offering small group yoga classes, individual lessons and yoga therapy in the Exeter area in addition to retreats
and training courses in Devon. The main emphasis of my teaching is the ability to be in the present moment. For the greater part of our lives we allow the mind to "time travel" moving backward into memory, and forward into the future, I like to explore how it feels and what it means to be a little more present in our daily lives.
