The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies is a recognised independent Centre of Oxford University, which is globally renowned
for its standards of academic excellence and achievement. Each term we offer a range of online courses that explore various facets of Indian religion. For the upcoming term, starting in October, we will be offering a course in the 'Philosophy of Yoga', which will provide a detailed study of the background to Yoga practice, including discussion of texts such as the Upanishads, Bhagavad-gita and Yoga Sutras as well as the Tantric traditions and the main works on Hatha Yoga. The course is detailed, thorough and exhaustive and provides a complete overview of the subject area in line with the academic standards of Oxford University. Weekly Dru Yoga Classes:
7:30 - 9:00, cost £30 for 5 weeks or £7.50 per drop-in class. Thursday evening 7:30 - 9:00, cost £30 for 5 weeks or £7.50 per drop-in class. Suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, these sessions include gentle, flowing postures and movement sequences designed to rebalance and revitalise the body, mind and emotions.
Weekly Dru Prenatal Yoga Class: Tuesday evening 6:15 - 7:15, cost £30 for 4 weeks. A gentle and relaxing class with Dru Yoga postures, sequences, breathing techniques and relaxation ideally suited to be practiced throughout pregnancy. Classes are taught in small informal groups and are suitable for women from the fourteenth week of pregnancy right up to birth. No previous yoga experience necessary.
Dru Dance Classes: Saturday morning 10:00 - 11:00, cost £60 for a course of 10 classes. Dru Dance is a fusion of yoga and dance moves choreographed to music. It is energetic and invigorating, using dynamic, flowing movements to help build both strength and suppleness and provide a workout that is a lot of fun.
