Dr Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj. Guru Kula setting and introduction to the culture of South India is the speciality of this centre. 6 month and 1 year teacher training courses are offered annually for the last 45 years. Short term courses are available for tourists for a duration of ten days upon prior contact. Yoga Life is the official journal of the Ananda Ashram that is in its 45th year. Yoganjali Natyalayam is the cultural wing of the ashram with a performing troupe of Bharata Natyama dancers and musicians of professional standard.

Dr. Asana Andiappan, Chennai. I also have Yoga diplomas from three Universities. To teach Yoga I have not only traveled to many parts of India but also to foreign countries like Ireland and France. About the Yoga Teacher: • Philip Benis, the Yoga Teacher was trained by Swami Sharanananda ( Fr.KorKo Moses SJ) the Acharya Guru of Ananda Dhara Yogashram, Calcutta, and Dr. Asana Andiappan, Chennai. • He has Yoga diplomas from three Universities. • To teach Yoga he had not only traveled to many parts of India but also to foreign countries like Ireland and France. • He has Master Degree in Social Work (Medical and Psychiatry) • He was trained both in Catholic (B.Ph) and Protestant (M.Div) theology. About his methods in Yoga teaching: • He teaches Thirumoolar Yoga. • He teaches simple yogic exercises like the udarpayirchi (asanas) and moochipayirchi (pranayama) and leads one to manaverumai(Dhyana). • Based on the needs of the learners he teaches other techniques. • He helps the learner to make an inward journey and enjoy peace all through life.
