The Iyengar yoga institute amsterdam offers a full program consisting of 40 weekly public classes including beginners,
intermediate and advanced classes (level 1-5), medical/therapeutical classes, womens, pregnacy and childrens classes. Jennifer has 23 years experience in Iyengar yoga, was certified to teach in 1998, and is qualified to train teachers
in this rigorous method. She specializes in applying in-depth knowledge of beginner and intermediate level Yogasana and Pranayama to practice and in the experience of life.
Jennifer gives talks on the history and philosophy of yoga, and assists women during and after pregnancy and people with particular therapeutic needs (MS, blood pressure, injuries, stress, etc.) at home and in a studio setting. She also mentors teachers toward Iyengar certification.

What is kiratn?
Singing has been used for centuries throughout all cultures to connect us to the divine.
kirtan has roots in India, many of the songs are sung in Sanskrit. If you’ve ever chanted responses in Latin or Hebrew in your religious tradition, then you know how powerful singing in an ancient, holy language can be. You can be completely immersed in the sound, with no words to distract the mind. But everyone experiences kirtan differently, and it doesn’t have to be a religious experience. A kirtan is not really a concert either, more like a sing-along, with someone leading the group by setting the tune and chant. A single chant can be repeated for quite a while and it is exactly that repetition that brings about the special alchemy of kirtan. When the music stops, your mind can quiet down like in deep meditation.
