Katie has been sharing the teachings of Anusara Yoga in New Zealand since 2005. She is honoured to have been the first
teacher to introduce NZ to this heart-oriented and life affirming style of Hatha Yoga. Katie is a Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher, RYT-500, and the founder of Yoga Kula NZ. Currently based in Christchurch, she offers public and private classes, one-on-one yoga therapy sessions, workplace yoga & corporate wellness consulting, and Anusara workshops around New Zealand and overseas.

Katie believes that yoga is an empowering and creative practice that compels us to participate fully in our lives on and off the mat! Katie travels regularly to study with, observe, and assist her teacher - Anusara Yoga founder John Friend. She remains inspired by and grateful for the unfailing support and encouragement of many Anusara teachers and mentors including Desiree Rumbaugh, Noah Maze, BJ Galvan, and Moses Brown. Her teaching is also influenced by study with Carlos Pomeda, Paul Mueller Ortega, and Donna Farhi.
