The style of yoga I teach combines a dynamic flow of poses with mindfulness, precision, and fun. I am a certified yoga
teacher & yoga school (YogaAlliance RYS200, Vinyasa Yoga Basel) and completed my training at OM Yoga center in New York. In addition, I am a certified AcroYoga teacher (www.acroyoga.org). I teach classes in English and German in Basel, Switzerland.
First introduced to yoga in New Zealand in 1995, I have practiced, taught and studied yoga in India, Canada, Asia and
Europe. I am passionate about sharing yoga with others because of the transformational nature of this practice and it's ability to connect us with every aspect of life. My classes celebrate the essence of classical Indian Hatha, Kundalini and Yin Yoga, so that students can awaken to their inner teacher and develop a flexible and peaceful body, mind and spirit through breathe awarenss and energy flow.
Basel group class schedule: Monday- Friday morning and evenings I am also available for individual and group private & corporate lessons.
I am a massage therapist, Yoga Teacher, Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist.
I was born and raised in Kerala, Southern
India, the natural home and birthplace of Ayurveda. I was keen to learn more and studied Ayurveda and Ayuvedic Massage then went on to complete the Sivananda Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Sivananda Training courses at the International Sivananda Yoga Ashram, Neyyar Dam Kerala India. After completing teacher training he began teaching Yoga at the Ashram where I completed the training. I have taught people from all over the world and from many different backgrounds, ages and abilities.
In 2008 I moved to the UK. Later I studied Thai Yoga Massage in the UK. I also successfully completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
And at the end of 2012 I moved to Switzerland (Basel) to spread my spiritual journey. And now I am teaching Yoga, doing Massages and Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy throughout the Switzerland! (I teach Yoga mainly Hatha Yoga Sivananda style, however, I also influenced by the postures from other schools of Yoga when I feels it will enhance a student’s experience. Class will be followed in English, but there will be lots of smiling added to the class, so language is not really a matter. I add the postures, which is easy to adopt the people who are beginners, experienced people or even someone who never tried yoga before. The Yoga postures, which focus on, strengthen the body as well the mind. And there are breathing exercises around which is really helpful to strengthen the respiratory system and release the stress of the day today life and improve the flow of energy in the body. At the end of the class I will guide you through deep relaxation that refreshes your body, mind and the spirit)

Michelle is a honorary graduate in Theology and Comparative Religion from the University of Manchester. Studying Theology
was fascinating for Michelle and fulfilled some of life’s philosophical questions that she had always been seeking. It was during these studies that Michelle discovered ‘yoga’ as a weekly exercise class. Post graduation, and for the subsequent 10 years, Michelle often came back to yoga in various forms and methods always searching for something but rarely feeling satisfied.
Seeking more, in 2009 Michelle changed her life and moved to Basel along with her 2 cats to start a new exciting journey and discovered the Jivamukti method. Through daily practice Michelle learnt self-discipline, balance and harmony, how to heal and strengthen mind and body and how to reconnect to herself: “it made me a better friend, daughter, co-worker and partner - it's a beautiful gift to give to yourself and extends out to those you love”
Within a year Michelle had completed the Jivamukti Yoga® 350-Hour Teacher Training Certification Program in New York studying under the guidance of Sharon Gannon, David Life, Lady Ruth Lauer Manenti, Gabriela Bozic and Manorama. Having also studied with Yogaswari, Mark Whitwell and may other renowned teachers, Michelle is passionate to pass on the teachings of her lineage and to help others to be compassionate for the well being of all creatures sharing our Earth. Classes incorporate the classic elements of the Jivamukti method: chanting, to help students find their true voice; lessons drawing from ancient texts with modern, relevant commentary; challenging, flowing asana class; and the tranquility of meditation.
Classes given in both German and English where English speaking students are present.

We offer traditional ashtanga yoga with qualified teachers for all levels. Guided classes as well as the ashtanga typical
Mysore style classes allow an individual practice for everybody. Workshops and seminars for absolute beginners and advanced students are scheduled regularly. This dynamic Yoga is often called a meditation in flow as it not only works on the body but strongly on the mind.
