The style of yoga I teach combines a dynamic flow of poses with mindfulness, precision, and fun. I am a certified
yoga teacher & yoga school (YogaAlliance RYS200, Vinyasa Yoga Basel) and completed my training at OM Yoga center in New York. In addition, I am a certified AcroYoga teacher (www.acroyoga.org). I teach classes in English and German in Basel, Switzerland.
Originally from New Zealand, I was introduced to yoga in 1995 and have since practiced, taught and studied yoga in
India, Canada, Asia and Europe. With a background in psychology, I celebrate yoga's ability to transformation us from the inside out and foster our connection with every aspect of life. My classes celebrate the essence of classical Indian Hatha, Kundalini and Yin Yoga, so that students can awaken to their inner teacher and develop a flexible and peaceful body, mind and spirit through breathe awareness and energy flow.
Basel group class schedule: Monday- Friday morning and evenings I am also available for individual and group private & corporate lessons.
Please visit my website for more information about yoga and healing therapies.
TriYoga:The inherent characteristics of this expression, such as smooth rhythmical breath, spinal waves, relaxation-in-action,
and economy of movement, result in a seamless flow ~ the unification of pranayama and mudra with dynamic and sustained asana to create greater flow of prana. TriYoga sequences have been systematized from Basics to Level 7 into a comprehensive method. Ultimately, TriYoga is merging with the inner flow, universal energy.

Michelle is a honorary graduate in Theology and Comparative Religion from the University of Manchester. Studying Theology
was fascinating for Michelle and fulfilled some of life’s philosophical questions that she had always been seeking. It was during these studies that Michelle discovered ‘yoga’ as a weekly exercise class. Post graduation, and for the subsequent 10 years, Michelle often came back to yoga in various forms and methods always searching for something but rarely feeling satisfied.
Seeking more, in 2009 Michelle changed her life and moved to Basel along with her 2 cats to start a new exciting journey and discovered the Jivamukti method. Through daily practice Michelle learnt self-discipline, balance and harmony, how to heal and strengthen mind and body and how to reconnect to herself: “it made me a better friend, daughter, co-worker and partner - it's a beautiful gift to give to yourself and extends out to those you love”
Within a year Michelle had completed the Jivamukti Yoga® 350-Hour Teacher Training Certification Program in New York studying under the guidance of Sharon Gannon, David Life, Lady Ruth Lauer Manenti, Gabriela Bozic and Manorama. Having also studied with Yogaswari, Mark Whitwell and may other renowned teachers, Michelle is passionate to pass on the teachings of her lineage and to help others to be compassionate for the well being of all creatures sharing our Earth. Classes incorporate the classic elements of the Jivamukti method: chanting, to help students find their true voice; lessons drawing from ancient texts with modern, relevant commentary; challenging, flowing asana class; and the tranquility of meditation.

typical Mysore style classes allow an individual practice for everybody. Workshops and seminars for absolute beginners and advanced students are scheduled regularly. This dynamic Yoga is often called a meditation in flow as it not only works on the body but strongly on the mind.
Classes given in both German and English where English speaking students are present.
With the 8-step Astanga yoga
path, we can develop positive behavior models and solutions to deal with everyday life; the postures and breathing techniques that enable us to energise ourselves.
