Yoga in Motion (by the Sea) ~ is Laura's unique synthesis of yoga styles including Kundalini Yoga, Viniyoga, and Mindfulness Yoga.
Class meets on Tuesdays 8:30am - 10:00am at Pahoehoe Beach Park (located near Magic Sands Beach in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii).
Transcend the boundaries of "static" Yoga by joining our unique flowing class. Classes are taught by the Ocean focusing on the breath and energetic movement, and incorporate flowing movements to offer the mind, body and spirit a transcendent experience as we step out of our old energetic patterns and open and create new infinite possibilities.
Each class opens seated on a stool (provided) with breathing exercises, centering, setting intentions, and learning how to move and gather our energies. We then move into groups of flowing Vinyasa sequences (linking intention, breath and movement) to further enhance the flow of energy in our bodies, and release any areas that feel tight or unyielding. Each pose we move into and through can be modified so that your body, mind, and spirit experience the opening and grace of Yoga (sukham = ease) versus straining (dukham = dis-ease) your own personal limits for a particular day. Classes complete with a total relaxation experience and easy centering meditation.
Classes are appropriate for all levels of Yoga practitioners from those new to the practice and for those who have been on the path for years. No two classes are the same, as each day we ourselves are different and Laura teaches from an intuitive place allowing this ancient wisdom to flow through guiding each class.
We ask that everyone sign up in advance for class, so that Laura can bring a stool for each participant. Sign up by phoning (texting is even better) 808-756-1628 and let Laura know how tall you are so she can bring the proper height of stool. A Yoga mat or beach mat is also required. Beach mats are available for rent for an additional $1.
