Mother/Daughter Yoga: Reclaiming and Celebrating the Sacred Feminine
Join Johanna and her 11-year old daughter Emelie for this four class series for mothers* and their daughters, ages 9 and up, who are curious about yoga and/or wish to deepen their practice together from a feminine perspective. The classes are both playful and mindful and each class is presented within a theme. We will explore different aspects of yoga such as different asanas (postures), partner-poses, restorative yoga, sun-salutations, female health issues and the blossoming body, meditation, pranayama (breathing) and chanting. This smorgasbord of practices nurtures and promotes an overall sense of well-being and inner peace, body awareness, strength, flexibility, self-esteem, and stress reduction. Most importantly, the special time we spend together seeks to deepen and honor the sacred in the precious relationship between mother and daughter creating a legacy of physical and emotional health. *(Grandmothers, Aunties, Mother-In-Laws or Mother Friend is also welcome!)
