Integral Yoga's Satchidananda Ashram and Retreat Center at Yogaville, Buckingham, Virginia, USA, offers a full, authentic Yoga experience to Yoga beginners and established Yoga practitioners. A Founding Member of the Yoga Alliance, this Interfaith Spiritual Center, Yoga Teacher Training Academy, and Workshop facility, offers Yoga Teacher Certifications, Weekend Workshops and more extended programs in all areas of Spirituality, Health, Wellness, and Personal Growth, with an emphasis on Yoga and Meditation, as taught by the Founder, Sri Swami Satchidananda. Swami Satchidananda, also lovingly refered to as Sri Gurudev, founded Yogaville to provide an optimal environment where people could come to study, and live according to, the principles of Integral Yoga. Years later, that Yoga village continues to grow, still nurtured by Sri Gurudev's vibrant and enduring spirit. Yogaville is a dynamic community where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together in the name of Yoga. In addition to the thousands of guests and program participants who visit each year, 150 residents make Yogaville their home. There is a monastery for the monastics, as well as dormitories for guests and single residents. Yoga seminars and workshops run each weekend, along with certified Yoga Teacher Training programs. A large residential Yoga community surrounds the Ashram. Facilities in Yogaville include: a school, organic garden and orchard, auto repair and other workshops, photo department, Shakticom (audio/video production department), archives, Integral Yoga Publications, Integral Yoga Distribution, graphic design department, Fine Arts Society, Lotus Conference Center, affiliated credit union, and more. Three shrines at Yogaville, the Light Of Truth Universal Shine (LOTUS), Kailash, and Chidambaram are often referred to as the heart of Yogaville. But, in truth, there is no particular structure that can hold that special honor. The heart of Yogaville will always be the expansive teachings and presence of Sri Gurudev. There is something for everyone here at Yogaville - from Welcome Weekends, to weekend workshops, personal retreats, silent retreats, and workshops on all aspects of Yoga, all the way to beginning, intermediate and advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at our famous Integral Yoga Academy.
The LOTUS Yogaville is also the home of the world famous LOTUS [Light Of Truth Universal Shrine]. Perhaps the crowning glory of Swami Satchidananda's interfaith work, this interfaith shrine was built in Yogaville in 1986. LOTUS celebrates the unity behind the diversity of the world religions. Open to people of all faiths to meditate and pray, this shrine uses the universal symbol of light as the symbol of the Divine. It is the first shrine ever built to house altars for every major faith and also faiths less well known and those not yet known.
