Private and group instruction offered. Hatha and vinyasa flow yoga classes - intro to level 3- are grounded in the fundamentals of breath and alignment and is appropriate for students with very little yoga experience and for students who want a moderately or intensely paced class. Class instruction mixes the yang, or heat building aspects of vinyasa flow with the yin, or cool nature of deep stretch. Students will strengthen and stretch muscles through heat-building vinyasa that links movement into and out of poses with the breath. Increased strength helps support our bodies as we gain flexibility in the connective tissues of our hips, lower spine and elsewhere through poses passively held for longer durations. By extending how long some poses are held, we invite the release of both physical and emotional pain associated with connective tissues, which enhances our wellbeing. Attention is given to providing modification options for injuries and health conditions, as well as developing our self-realization and being present during practice.
