Shanti means peace. Peace is established through the refinement of the whole person. Through a focused and consistent yoga practice, we can experience greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, enhanced personal relationships, and a heightened sense of awareness of the interconnectedness of all life. I offer public classes at four locations, Rosemary Court, Prana, Circusoul, and Snap Fitness. My classes incorporate yogic philosophy, chanting, breathing exercises, sun salutations and/or vinyasa sequences, a logical sequence of asanas, deep final relaxation and meditation. PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR UPDATED CLASS SCHEDULE |
Other offerings include: Yoga In Our Community: Bringing yoga practices to our local neighborhoods, assisted living facilities, college dorms, and workplaces.
Privates and Semi Privates: Learn to build a home practice, breathing exercises, meditation, and yoga nidra
_____________________________________________________________________ My education includes teacher certification courses in traditional Sampoorna Yoga as well as Alignment-based Vinyasa, hours of personal study with focus on my gurus teachings and Vedanta texts, and workshops in traditional yoga asana, thai yoga, and energy work including Pranic Healing and Reiki. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from USF and M.Ed. in Humane Education from Valparaiso University and Institute for Humane Education. I have found humane education is in perfect harmony with yoga ethics, so I strive to live and teach by Zoe Weil's MOGO principle (making choices that do the most good and least harm toward other people, animals, and the environment) as well as Swami Sivananda's simple yet absolute words of wisdom, "Serve, love, give, purify, meditate, realize. Be good. Do good. Be kind. Be compassionate." You can also find me leading kirtan (devotional chanting) with fellow musicians at spiritual centers, yoga studios, and kirtan festivals.
