The yoga practice taught in the dance program of Rio Hondo College emphasizes Asanas (poses), Pranayama (breath) and Dhyana (meditation) in the Iyengar Tradition. The classes meet twice a week for 17 weeks (Rio Hondo operates on the semester basis.) Yoga is an integral part of the dance program at Rio Hondo College. Ms. Kearns brings her expertise as a dancer, choreographer and yoga practicioner to the program. Her teaching style is anatomically sound, articulate and embracing.
