The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat is located across the bay from Nassau, Bahamas, on one of the finest beaches in the world. It is an island paradise and a true sanctuary of peace and natural beauty. Offering a white sand beach and the crystal clear water of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as five and a half acres of tropical garden, the Yoga Retreat provides the ideal environment for practice, rest and relaxation. Guests are welcome to arrive for a Yoga Vacation, in which they can enjoy a rich program, presented by world renowned speakers, as well as yoga classes that are offered twice daily for beginners and intermediate levels. Classes are taught by highly competent and experienced yoga teachers on spacious yoga platforms facing the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The Yoga Retreat also offers a variety of courses for all levels of practitioners. A Yoga Teachers’ Training Course is offered several times a year. This is a four-week course which offers a profound personal experience, designed to build a firm foundation of inner discipline and provide the proficiency to teach yoga to others. Our Teacher's Training Courses are eligible for 200 & 500 hours from the Yoga Alliance. Upcoming Teacher's Training Course dates are: December 4 - 31, 2011, January 4 - 31, 2012, February 4 - March 2, 2012, March 5 - April 1, 2012, April 5 - May 2, 2012, May 6 - June 2, 2012. Other courses on topics related to yoga and healing are also offered to allow practitioners to expand and enhance their practice. We also have a variety of amazing workshops, ayurvedic treatments, kirtan programs and interfaith symposiums.
