Melissa Emma has been practicing various modalities that explore the mind body connection for over 20 years. Yoga took center stage in her mid-twenties, when she learned her first sun salutation and saw that yoga united her two loves, meditation and physical movement. Since then, she has been practicing yoga steadily for ten years and has recently completed the Sacred Rivers 200 hour yoga certification. Dance, aerobics, weight training, and martial arts are also part of her fitness background. Her classes aim to help the individual align, integrate, explore, and deepen through synchronizing breath and movement. Classes will begin with grounding and centering exercises that will flow through heat building, strengthening postures toward a cool down and finally a deeply restorative savasana. Breathing exercises and short meditations or visualizations may be included as well. Precise alignment cues and modifications are given so that students of all levels can enjoy her classes.
