Kailash Akhara is the home of Adi-yoga, located in Phu Rua, Loei Province, Thailand. Designed by the principles of permaculture, Kailash Akhara is a beautiful, 40 acre, center – with expansive mountain views and gorgeous landscape – that is conducive to the retreat practices of yoga and meditation. Kailash Akhara currently consists of a large temple/training hall for yoga and meditation, a dormitory that comfortably houses up to 60 people, a fully functioning kitchen and bath house, a traditional house for Tantrik fire ceremonies, ponds for swimming and aquaculture, and organic gardens. Adi-Yoga is a Sanskrit term that means “the primordial state of inherent enlightenment that is experienced as the complete, immediate and limitless unity of Awareness and Energy, and the path to attain that original experience”. Adi-yoga is a school for the preservation and dissemination of the authentic teaching of Tantrik Yoga. Tantrik Yoga is the View (philosophy), methods (practices) and fruit (results) of both inner and outer yogic exercises of body, breath and mind energy that are used for the purpose of enlightenment, the byproducts of which are radiant health, peace of mind, and a cohesive sense of joy. Thus, Adi-yoga is a system or school of Tantrik Yoga.
