Cecily’s first experience with yoga was in 1986 when she attended a class at the Ananda Center in Sacramento. She attended classes in yoga postures, stress reduction, and meditation. Having undergone a stressful childhood and physical illness she was amazed at how yoga helped her to find peace and remain calm during stressful times.
After studying at the Ananda Center, Cecily began studying with different teachers and different yoga styles. Her search led her to Iyengar yoga. Iyengar focuses on precise alignment in the poses and educates you to have a strong and flexible body as you age.
