Our mission is to inspire people to understand and feel the true meaning of family and to see others not only as equals but as divine. The word Yoga, in its most basic form, simply means “to unite”. We often think of this as being the union of body mind and soul, forgetting that soul is boundless. Through the teachings of yoga philosophy and creative arts, Ohana Shakti will work to unite the individual with their community, their society, and the world
About Chanti: Chanti has been studying and teaching yoga in the Tantric Hatha Linage since 2005 with her teacher Rod Stryker, founder of Para Yoga. He has taught her that everyone has the ability to know their destination and find that road to walk on. She has currently completed her level one Para Yoga Certification.
Alongside her Para Yoga certification, Chanti has studied and completed her Restorative Yoga level one training with Judith Handson Lasater, whom she currently assists in workshops in the United States. She is also studying Sacred Art with Mavis Gewant and Pieter Weltevrede, which merges her love of Yoga with her passion for painting and education.
In 2008 Chanti, co-taught a 200 hr teacher training program at Centre de Yoga du Marais, Paris. Every year she returns to France for her yearly retreat in the Ariege region which combines the yoga practices of the body, mind, spirit and land.
For the past two years Chanti has worked closely with women struggling with eating disorders, using asana and Yantra Painting, for healing. She also worked with therapist Angie Gonzalez on creating the “YogaDrama” program; combining the powerful results of yoga practice and psychodrama therapy.
Chanti hopes to inspire others to re-discover their shiniest self, by sharing her knowledge of art and yogic philosophy
