Gecko Yoga is about lighting this spark in children of all ages by using the ancient practice of yoga in a fun, engaging and age-appropriate way.
Gecko Yoga’s goal is to fire up imaginations, energise young bodies and inspire eager minds. To teach skills that children will take with them as they grow and learn, and to nurture a healthy acceptance of self and tolerance for others. To enable parents to interact in a different way with their kids and offer yoga teachers the insight they need when working with children.
But above all, Gecko Yoga is about kids having fun – healthy, active, imaginative fun – and empowering adults to make this happen.
The brainchild of founder and director Jenny Smith, Gecko Yoga offers events, teacher training and classes relating to every aspect of children’s yoga. Whether it’s hosting the only children’s yoga specialty teacher training in Hong Kong or running Radiant Child Yoga workshops, Gecko Yoga makes yoga happen for kids.
Gecko Yoga came about when Jenny, an accredited Facilitator of Radiant Child Yoga, decided to combine her passion for yoga with her love of children. But it was the birth of her daughter that confirmed her desire to specialise in children’s yoga, which led to her Radiant Child Yoga qualifications. Says Shakta Khalsa, Jenny’s trainer and the founder of Radiant Child Yoga: “Jenny is a creative and dynamic woman who is deeply dedicated to the heart and soul of children, and to the practice of yoga for personal transformation.” Says Jenny: “I simply want children to reap the benefits of yoga whilst having fun.”
Weekly Classes held in studios in Central. Radiant Child Program Teacher Trainings held in Hong Kong and available throughout Asia.
