What is Release-based movement you ask?
In these classes you will learn the fundamentals of release technique that begin lying on the floor, slowly rocking the body into gently motion. Gaining a sense of your own body’s weight and volume that will prepare you to move into Iyengar poses in preparation for inversion poses. There is a strong focus on body awareness and the correct use of breath in movement. The inverted poses help calm the brain and relieve stress and mild depression, as well as being a fantastic aid for sleep. Memory and concentration increases and allows the brain to draw plenty of Prana. You will also learn how to assist others in the class and will be assisted on those asanas where you need a little support.
By focusing on opening and lengthening areas that are chronic physical spots for holding tension and encouraging air to enter each organ, we are able to slowly begin to cleanse the internal system allowing it to operate with more power and strength over a period on time.
