What type of yoga is it?
It will be a mixture of a slow-paced hatha yoga with some viynasa flow to get the heart rate up a bit. It will NOT be a beginning-to-end fast-paced asthanga class. We may slow things down or speed it up to suit the students. This is also a Hindu spiritual yoga, not a stripped down Westernized version.
Is there a fee?
We do not believe in commercialization of yoga and so do not charge a fee. However, we thought it's good karma to compensate the church for the space. Also, some of the money could go toward a sign (in front of the church) that advertises the class to the community. So we're suggesting a donation based on a sliding scale of $1 to $10 per class.
What should I bring with me? Please bring a yoga mat (most department stores have them) and a bottle of water. If you have a block, it would be useful for some asanas but it's not necessary.
How frequently do we meet? We meet once a week on Mondays at 7 pm. If the instructors have to be out of town, class may be cancelled (for instance, July 14th is cancelled). Please contact the instructors at RKN312@gmail.com to be added to the evite list. What is leela? Leela in Sanskrit means play. Although yoga is a serious mind-body-spirit practice that is thousands of years old, it lends itself to a sense of child-like play.
