What type of yoga is it?

Most yoga names like ashtanga, Bikram, etc. are made up. Traditional yoga is NOT beginning-to-end fast-paced calisthenics nor is it just a seated meditation. In this class, taught by an Indian instructor raised in the Vaishnava tradition that BKS Iyengar and Krishnamachari come from, we practice yoga as a medium-paced physical meditation. We may slow things down or speed it up to suit the students.

Is there a fee?

We do not believe in commercialization of yoga and so do not charge a fee. However, we thought it's good karma to compensate the church for the space. So we're suggesting a donation based on a sliding scale of $1 to $10 per class.

What should I bring with me? Please bring a yoga mat (most department stores have them).

How frequently do we meet? We meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 pm. If the instructors have to be out of town, class may be cancelled. Please contact the instructors at to be added to the email list. What is leela? Leela in Sanskrit means play. Although yoga is a serious mind-body-spirit practice that is thousands of years old, it lends itself to a sense of child-like play.
