Jill has been practicing and studying many traditions of yoga since 1993, so the style of yoga she teaches is an eclectic combination of various styles of Hatha Yoga. Certified to teach through Yoga Teachers Training Institute on Long Island in 2001, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level through Yoga Alliance, Jill's teaching approach is based on the starting point of each individual student taking into consideration physical and mental challenges, past and present injuries and medical conditions. Classes combine breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asanas), use of energy locks (bandhas) and seals (mudras), relaxation with guided imagery. Jill uses a gentle, yet challenging, approach. Beginners welcome. Private and semi-private classes offered. Current group classes are held privately and at the Huntington YMCA. E-mail or call for more details.
