Our teachings follow the spiritual lineage of the Great Yogi Sage Swami Guru Devanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, who brought the Mantra Yoga Meditation technique to the West. Our Hatha Yoga Devanand classes are held in a harmonious spiritual atmosphere, teaching the student the most profound philisophy of Shri Adi Shankarachara, with the objective of developing the qualities of a deep spiritual discipline: patience, unselfishness, perseverance, humbleness, sincerity, devotion, practice and the development of higher levels of consciousness. The American Devanand Yoga Center, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that does not employ any staff or commercialize the priceless teachings of the Yoga Philosophy. Our instuctors are volunteers who offer their free time to continue Swami Guru Devanand's work for humanity: to create a more spiritual world; one in which Peace, Truth, Love and Harmony dwell in the heart of each individual.
