If you experience stress, anxiety, depression or grief, or perhaps you would like more focus and clarity around your personal goals, this may be just what you need to become unstuck. Perhaps you are considering taking a yoga class for the first time, but would like some background before entering a group class.
If you are already a yoga practitioner and experience emotion welling up during your practice, I can help you integrate your feeling and experience with your daily life. I specialize in stress & grief, and hold a Master's Degree in Thanatology (Death, Dying & Bereavement).
In addition to private sessions, I offer Mindful Grief Groups, Day-long retreats, a weekly meditation group (donation based) and special workshops. My web site, www.marylandyogatherapy.com is up to date with current offerings. The style of yoga I offer is called Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy; a mind-body practice that helps release stress and tension in your body while calming your mind in a private session.
As a certified practitioner, I will guide on a meditative journey to help you clarify your goals and make lasting life changes. Gentle hands-on stretching will help you get out of your head and into your body while relaxing overtaxed muscles. The best part? You don’t need to be flexible or have any fitness experience to receive lasting benefits from even just one session.
So what isn’t Phoenix Rising? It is not a regular yoga class where you will be taught yoga postures. I like to say that you learn how to “be” yoga rather than “do” yoga! You will get to lay on a fluffy mat while I gently move and stretch you into positions based on your own goals and body. We begin where you are. This is about creating lasting change in your body-mind, not turning you into a pretzel (although you may discover your body and mind are more flexible than you imagined). Please call me at 240-446-3030 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to working with you!
