The practice is expressed through the Yoga Gangsters, our community outreach program. Yoga Gangsters have been serving Miami’s at risk and in crisis communities since 2003. To date we have taught more than 275 free classes and have raised more than $25,000 for local and global humanitarian efforts.
Our local programs are offered within the juvenile justice system, in conjunction with the Department of Children and Families and with other organizations including schools, youth centers, rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, and more. Our Global outreach includes the raising of funds to support humanitarian efforts in Haiti, Uganda, Kenya and India. Projects include the building of schools & birthing centers, providing HIV education/prevention and through meeting immediate needs of food, shelter, medical supplies and clean water.
