for every age, body, or lifestyle. We are committed to meeting you where you are and taking you forward to where and WHO you want to be--providing a small class environment AND pacing your practice to meet your needs without pain or injury. We have a variety of classes for every age, beginners or seasoned practitioners, healing injuries or chronic illness, or focus classes for flexibility, core, sports... 7 to 8 classes per week at all levels. We offer senior/student discounts, private and restorative yoga. We are located in a serene setting on the Spokane River practicing outdoors in the warmer months, and a cozy fireplace inside the studio to warm us during the colder months. Garden Street School is a YOga Alliance registered School at the 200 and 500 hour level. We teach a style of Yoga
which stabilizes, strengthens and moves body, mind and heart. Our Yoga method: •Is an alignment based method which includes held poses, core strengthening and skillful flow (vinyasa) •Is grounded in a practical and life affirming Yoga philosophy •Places an emphasis on connecting with the “good company” of other Yogins - and building and sustaining an ongoing community of practice.
~~~~ Garden Street Yoga was founded in 2001 by Karen Sprute-Francovich as a simple and wholehearted outgrowth of her love and gratitude for the practice of Yoga. She has continued to cultivate Garden Street from a deep ground of experience which includes 40 years of practicing and teaching Yoga in the Krishnamacharya lineage – first in the Iyengar method and later as a certified Anusara teacher.
The Weekly Classes at Garden Street cover a broad spectrum of needs and range from absolute beginner classes, to classes for seniors, to “Big Pose” classes, to dynamic sweaty flowing practices, to gentle subtle work with the inner body, to classes in seated meditation. We are adamant that one does not have to be strong or flexible to begin Yoga. The practice of Yoga will, over time, create strength and flexibility, integrate posture and open your heart for radiant health.
