and supine postures. This class emphasizes core strength, twisting, folding and balance.

-Warm Vinyasa Flow Yoga postures designed to gently open hips and shoulders, lengthen tight muscles and strengthen the core while working with the breath. The room is heated 80-85 degrees creating a more optimal experience for the body and mind. All levels welcome in this 60 minute class.

We specialize in Anatomy, Biomechanics and Yoga Therapy. Our education in these fields as well as our extensive experience in Yoga instructing allows us to recognize common injuries and blockages (physical and emotional obstacles that limit one´s range of motion and experience). We will educate you to identify blockages and equip you with the tools needed to overcome them. The blockages you face in class are the same blockages you face in your life. When you overcome a blockage, you empower your life. Our instructors will ensure you achieve alignment in every Yoga pose, maximizing their benefits as well as preventing injuries.
All classes are 90 minutes and have their foundation in Hatha Yoga, which is the origin of all types and styles of Yoga. Classes take place in a group setting (8 student maximum) yet are highly personalized. Each student will receive ongoing assessments of the following: range of movement, flexibility, balance, tension and blockages. Together we will look at these elements to determine individual needs, goals, and therapeutic accommodations. Yoga Props (mats, bolsters, blankets, bricks, belts, etc) are used to ensure that each student has the means to complete poses in a safe and efficient way.
WHY IS BIOMECHANICS IMPORTANT IN YOGA? Biomechanics is the Science that studies the movements of the human body. It is rooted in principles of mechanics, physics, anatomy and physiology. Application of Biomechanics is fundamental to the practice of Yoga. It prevents injuries, maximizes range of movements and unlocks blockages within the body. This provides complete body awareness and technical knowledge necessary for safe and effective personal practice. When practiced with a solid foundation in Biomechanics, the Discipline of Yoga offers a transformative experience to better yourself.

1988 and teaching since 1995. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 hour (advanced)level with the Yoga Alliance. I have teachers' certification through the Himalayan Institute and am a certified professional yoga therapist with Integrative Yoga Therapy, where I am also a mentor in the IYT Homestudy Program. I have completed "Yoga for the Heart" training with Nischala Devi. I am semi-retired and not available for yoga work from January through April.

I teach yoga for students of all levels, including those with challenges such as joint replacements, osteoarthritis
