The Refuge Meditation Group is an active contemplative community in Shreveport, LA. We believe that the spiritual path
is about relaxing into our humanity. It is our intention to teach meditative practices that facilitate such a movement, and to cultivate a more creative and sustainable community through mindful and compassionate participation.

Located inside Brewer Physical Therapy in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood, Aspire Yoga Center is a welcoming and
nurturing studio that offers yoga classes and workshops that promote a balanced lifestyle. Our intimate 360-square-foot yoga studio is a place to nourish the body, mind and spirit.
Classes are taught to students of all levels; however we are particularly geared towards and welcoming to those who are brand new to the practice. The studio's mission is to expand and enhance the yoga community in northwest Louisiana, one person at a time.
Aspire Yoga Center is located 663 Jordan Street, just east of Line Avenue. A well-lit parking lot is located onsite. Enter through the studio’s private entrance located in the back of the building.
Explore yoga is a 1200 sq. ft. yoga studio and boutique located in the heart of the South Highlands neighborhood in
Shreveport, Louisiana. explore yoga is committed to providing safe and well informed yoga instruction to anyone interested in the practice. It is the goal of this studio to provide the highest quality products and instruction in a relaxed, positive, clean and professional environment, while encouraging each individual to explore the many benefits of the yoga practice.
Simply Yoga (beginner to intermediate level) and Chair Yoga (for those with limited mobility) is a gentle yet challenging
practice designed to focus on the breath and then, moving with the breath’s natural rhythm, warming up the physical body slowly and thoroughly. Beginning with less challenging variations of the asanas (postures) prepares each individual for the full expression uniquely available at that time. The practice is a manifestation of ahimsa or non-violence. You will feel the immediate effects of yoga through the different sensations in your being as your mental, emotional and energy bodies are united for a more balanced and centered wholeness. This class experience has a spiritual quality, which promotes overall health and a feeling well-being. You will leave class deeply refreshed, renewed and revitalized, and more capable of meeting everyday challenges and stresses. Cheryl is also certified through two separate 9-day teacher trainings: The Yoga Institute of Houston, TX, and the Living Yoga Teacher Program in Austin, TX. Her teaching style is eclectic and gentle yet challenging with an emphasis on safety. She has had a personal practice since 1995 and has been teaching Yoga since 2001. Her calming voice and soothing style merge with the ancient art of Yoga to make her class the perfect way to build strength and flexibility, relieve stress, and promote peace and harmony.
Our yoga classes are designed to improve the health, performance, and mental acuity of athletes or individuals interested
in improving their level of fitness. Based on the ancient fitness science of hatha yoga, it blends balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format. Delivering a practical, user-friendly style, which is accessible, understandable, and doable by individuals at any level of fitness.
Private yoga sessions also available by appointment.
