JP YOGA opened in 1994. Debbera Blackwell has taught thousands of classes over the past 20 years in a variety of settings. She obtained her first teaching certificate from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA, and studied subsequently with many internationally known teachers including Patricia Walden, Rodney Yee, and John Schumacher. She is also a Svaroopa yoga teacher, having studied with Rama Berch at Master Yoga Academy. Thorough attention to alignment, an emphasis on breath, and on the cultivation of awareness and acceptance are hallmarks of her classes. Debbera is also an Embodyment yoga therapist. Sara first came to yoga through a desire to connect with and strengthen her core physically, mentally, and spiritually. Sara comes from a Corporate background, she found yoga as a way to decompress and relieve stress. Originally from the Boston area, she began with the Hatha and Vinyasa styles and she quickly became a dedicated and enthusiastic student. She had the vision while in Child's Pose of being a yoga instructor. She was laid off and felt that the Universe was granting her the opportunity to pursue her dream. Along her path of yoga, Sara has studied with senior teachers such as Daniel Orlansky, Liz Owen, Nicole Clark, and Josh Summers (Yin). She has been a yoga practitioner for six years and has over 200 hours of yoga teacher training, is certified through Yoga Energy of Flow, and is registered nationally with Yoga Alliance. She also graduated from the School of Ayurveda at the Kripalu Center for Yoga in Stockbridge, MA. Her passion for connection to self deepened as she embarked upon studying the sister science of yoga. She also traveled abroad to India and has studied along-side world renowned Ayurvedic physicians and is sharing her knowledge with the Boston area.
