The core teaching of the Dao Flow Yoga teacher training at Nourishing Life Center of Health is rooted in transformation and spirit. This is a body, mind and spirit program with special emphasis placed on the use of yoga as healing for women’s health through the main stages of her life. Additionally, this program draws inspiration from Chinese medicine, acupuncture meridian energetics, Daoist and Buddhist ideology.
A comprehensive yoga training course based in the fundamentals and methodology of Raja Yoga-Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga and Tantric yoga – and the associated vibration techniques and practices including but not limited to asana, pranayama, bandhas, mudra, and drishti. This training is also inspired by Bhakti yoga- practiced through sounding, chanting, mantra, ritual, puja, and spiritually-centered yoga of the heart, which impacts the body-mind physiology and pathology toward healing. Group Classes - Lindsay’s teaching style is light-hearted and playful with an intention of providing students with a tangible reference of their potential for personal transformation. Her classes are sequenced as a flow of yoga poses linked with the breath (vinyasa) and provide students with a physical challenge appropriate for them. Modifications and hands-on assists are offered as a way to personalize the practice for each individual. Pranayama practice (yoga breathing techniques), creative visualizations and meditation are woven into the sequence making each class a potentially transformational experience.
Yoga Therapy - sessions are customized, one-on-one classes with Lindsay where yogic practices such as asana, meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises) are adapted to help individuals facing challenges with their health. Yoga Therapy has proven helpful in managing many conditions, reducing symptoms, restoring balance, and improving emotional states and overall well-being. Lindsay is a current member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Sonya teaches yoga as an important part of achieving optimal health and wellness. Her yoga sessions and workshops are geared for beginners and advanced practitioners. She feels it’s an extraordinary privilege to be able to help facilitate positive change in the health and well-being of others whether it be weigh loss, the disappearance of chronic pain, as therapy in sports injury, disease or simply as a means to feel better.
Her yoga studies include vinyasa flow power yoga, pre and post-natal yoga, yoga for seniors and yoga as therapy. She is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) with a BA in Mass Communications and writes for several wellness and yoga related blogs.

Cindy is a certified Junior Intermediate I Iyengar Yoga instructor in Asheville. Cindy travels regularly to India to study at the Iyengar Institute. In the US, she studies and practices with senior teachers and attend a week long retreat each year led by Patricia Walden. Cindy teaches classes and offers private instruction in the Asheville area and leads workshops throughout the Southeast. The readers of Mountain Xpress voted her “Best Yoga Teacher in Western North Carolina” for three consecutive years. Cindy is the co-author of Yoga Your Way, which was released by Lark Books in January 2005.
Lillah Schwartz , ERYT 500 has over 30 years of teaching experience. She has studied with B.K.S. Iyengar and many of his teachers since 1981, and held an Iyengar teaching certificate from 1987-2009. She is a seasoned teacher, nationally-acclaimed instructor, author, and founder of Yoga with Lillah and Transformation Teacher Trainings. Lillah teaches weekly yoga classes for novice, therapeutic, intermediate and advanced yoga students. She is also the director and primary instructor for the 200 Hour and 500 Hour teacher training courses, and the Healing Our Backs with Yoga specialty training.

Asheville Community Yoga is a donation based yoga center located in Asheville, NC. The center offers yoga classes, special community events, teacher trainings, student immersions and workshops. All classes, workshops and events at the center are free for people who truly cannot afford to pay.
