Green Lotus Yoga Studio is an Ashtanga Shala, or school of Ashtanga yoga. We strive to provide a warm, clean, and bright space in which to practice. In addition to classes in Ashtanga yoga, we will provide workshops addressing the philosophy and ethics of yoga, Buddhist meditation, and a variety of seminars addressing health, diet, and the use of herbs.
The lotus is a symbol of emergence and liberation; it grows from the mud where it is rooted, is cleansed by the water it pushes through, and opens in the sunny air. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are depicted sitting or standing on translucent lotuses, suggestive of their transcendent nature.
