The Atmananda Yoga Sequence is the body of knowledge, experienced through Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga,
combined to create a Vinyasa flow. The sequence is composed of the six groups of asanas, including standing poses, balancing poses, spinal twists, inversions, back bends and forward bends, all working to leave the body completely open and refreshed. We use the breath and attention to detail as the foundation of the flow to develop a healthy yoga practice that can last for a lifetime. We believe that through learning proper alignment our bodies will begin to safely open and through practicing a consistent sequence, rather than looking around to see the next pose we will begin to move internally quieting our minds.

Seventy One classical and powerful postures make up the sequence and help you connect with your body. We use the Sun Salutations to warm up, various hip-openers to lubricate the joints and release tension, forward bends to calm the mind and fire the digestion, backbends to energize and open up the heart , arm balances to tone the body and inversions to reverse the impact of gravity. The movement initiates with the breath to bring awareness and connect to the vital energy of the body, Prana.

The most important element of the Atmananda Yoga Sequence is physical alignment. The appropriate placing of the feet and hands and engaging the right muscles play a crucial role in protecting the joints and gently guiding the body deeper into the poses.

CircusYoga celebrates the whole person, the whole family, the whole community. We combine the consciousness of yoga
with the communal celebration of circus. It is an imaginative, fun-filled experience designed to strengthen self-confidence, focus, trust, expression, and teamwork. Most of all, CircusYoga models the principles of inclusion, partnering, community cooperation, the YESness of life, and how we can embrace each individual's gifts in our circle.

CircusYoga is a challenging yet accessible practice in which you and your family can play. In each workshop or retreat, we form a tribe that embraces balance, joy, courage, multi-generational learning, appropriate risk, and transformation. Using the consciousness and practices of yoga we explore introductory circus skills. Together we create a closing ritual to share with the entire community. Adults and children (ages 7-13) learn and grow in relationship, on an even playing field, opening new realms of vocabulary through:

* Creation of an environment where everyone is seen and celebrated * Group dynamics in Hatha yoga & group play * Kinesthetic communication through partner acrobatics & flying yoga * Integration across the mid-line with juggling & equilibristics * The spirit of play in parent/kid clowning & physical comedy * Balance on the tightwire and in asanas * Nurturance in parent/kid Thai massage * Self-Expression through creative movement

Who is the CircusYoga Teacher Training for? We welcome parents, yoga instructors, classroom teachers, circus educators, child social workers, family therapists, and any yoga practitioner who wants to work with kids and adults. We recommend that applicants have at least one year of yoga practice, however, no circus experience is necessary.

Pregnancy is a unique and wondrous time in life. The Prenatal Yoga Center's goal is to maintain a comfortable and contemplative
environment for pregnant women and their families. As a yoga center we help parents and children openly explore the mind, body, and spirit. Class size is intentionally kept small, assuring that you will receive individual attention. We have conveniently arranged a series of classes specifically designed to guide you and your child through the journey of pregnancy and beyond:

Prenatal Yoga - The program helps strengthen the body for child bearing and aids in relieving the common discomforts your body experiences. Classes also help you find the time and space to look within yourself, allowing you to openly explore your own intrinsic knowledge about the process of birth.

Postnatal Yoga - Classes focus on renewing your strength and energy, and exploring a balance within your mind and body.

Mommy (or Daddy) and Me - Classes provide quiet time dedicated to strengthening the emotional, physical and spiritual bond between you and your child.

As a resource center we provide information and education for new parents as their family expands, offering various workshops and lectures that addresses common issues related to pregnancy, early childhood parenting, family dynamics and alternative healing. These classes are offered monthly and include topics of: Learning to Breastfeed, Partner Yoga, Childbirth Education. We look to create a quiet sacred space and community where you and your family can step out of the busy New York lifestyle to find warmth and comfort. The Prenatal Yoga Center also has a robust online community featuring a NYC Resource List, Nanny Exhange and Library.

The Yoga of Intention is a dynamic and practical yoga developed for people who have experienced trauma or live with
chronic or life-threatening disease and who suffer with paralysis, physical and/or psychological pain. It is also for anyone desirous of leading a more sensitized life. Unlike conventional asana practices, very little gross muscle movement is required.

This practice rests upon a foundation of the spiritual exercises developed by Paramahansa Yogananda, B.K.S. Iyengar's therapeutic approach to asanas, and a newly developing spiritual psychology. The binding energy of this practice is the meditation practices from the various teaching traditions of the Buddhas.

Jazell began her study of yoga in 2002 after as per the recommendation of her Ayurvedic doctor in order to transform
her internal fire into health enhancing Prana. Since then she has studied with various different master yogis but is most influenced by the authentic yoga styles of Swami Sivananda, Swami Satchidananda and Dharma Mittra. Her 12 year journey has cultivated her into an instructor that combines the sister sciences of yoga and Ayurveda, whose primary philosophy holds that there is no one-size-fits-all practice. As an instructor her primary goal is to practice asana and meditation daily in order to maintain her mind-body-spirit connection, and continuously cultivate inspiration to support her students on their path to deep inner awareness. She emphasizes to her students to follow their own energetic needs instead of following the flow of the class. She currently holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Wellness, and certifications in Ayurvedic Nutrition, Intrinsic Wellness Coaching, Chakra Healing and as a Reiki Practitioner. She has a deep love for nature, the environment, permaculture, goddess energy, cooking, wild crafted herbal medicine, Chakra health, bhakti yoga and human equality. Welcome. Although seldom discussed, Hatha Yoga poses were developed by men for men. When a woman practices traditional
Yoga poses, differences in female anatomy affect everything from knee placement to pelvic positioning to the angle of her elbow joints and the curve of her low back. These differences make a woman more susceptible to injury.

Beyond the idea of "right" and "wrong", discover your own "female friendly" way to care for yourself with Yoga. Adrienne guides women of all ages, shapes, sizes and health conditions to avoid injury, alleviate pain and embrace the possibility of healing while feeling strong, graceful and calm. Move beyond stress and awaken to the stillness and sacred mystery that underlies all of life. Adrienne is an anatomy instructor, yoga teacher trainer and exercise physiologist who has spent 20 years researching how gender differences affect women practicing yoga. Adrienne completed advanced study in yoga therapy for women at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India; is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, is a certified Professional Level Yoga Teacher in the Kripalu tradition; and, is nationally registered by Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Yoga Teacher Trainer (eRYT500). We began our journey in 2001 in the heart of New York City's bustling Hell's Kitchen district and quickly blossomed
into a mecca for NYC's theatre-set and others looking for a super-friendly place to come together and practice yoga. Since them, we've welcomed more than 15,000 students into our family and trained hundreds of teachers, from nearly every continent on Earth (save the North & South Poles, but we're working on that).

TEACHER TRAINING: Knowing and really connecting with the people you’ll be studying with is so important…don’t you think? Our program is co-directed by Sonic founder, Lauren Hanna and Johanna Aldrich and is taught by them along with a small number of wonderful teachers, handpicked for their expert knowledge, compassion and ability to inspire and teach teachers.

Since 2001, we’ve graduated hundreds of teachers from all over the United States, France, Spain, U.K., Russia, Hungary, Poland, Israel, Japan, China, Indonesia, Central and South America, the Dominican Republic, Canada and beyond.

In fact, many or our international graduates have flown to New York City just to take our training and bring what they’ve learned back to their home-states and countries. In order to better accommodate the quickly-growing international demand for our programs, we now offer trainings in two languages, English and Japanese, and it looks like Spanish, Mandarin and Italian may be in the works.

During your training, you’ll study directly with the school Directors, the dynamic team that heads up Citysearch #1-rated Sonic Yoga NYC and had Yoga Journal proclaiming they “raise the bar for yoga innovation!” But, enough about us, we are here for YOU! Our students are our family (without the awkward Thanksgiving brawls). When you come to play in our house, you'll have the opportunity to cultivate a healthier, more-vital body, a peaceful, centered state of mind & an awakened spirit! Oh, and you might make a lot of great friends and sweat a bit, too!

Jennifer Pettit's exploration of yoga began in 1992, during which time she practiced a range of traditions before finding
her home in Hatha Yoga.

She completed an Anusara Teacher Training in 2003, specializing in pre-natal and postpartum yoga. She continued her studies in this area of women's issues, earning certifications both through Baby Om and The Barnes Method -Yoga for Two (Pre-natal and Mommy & Baby). She has studied the pelvic floor with Kelly Kane (pilates based), Jacki Nett and Leslie Howard (Iyengard yoga based)

Her teaching is steeped in the personal experiences of her own pregnancy and postpartum, and is enriched with her continual self-study and work with her students and their experiences. She teaches out of desire to serve other women experiencing the incredible journey into motherhood, and to share with them life-affirming techniques yoga offers for opening, for the body, and for life.

While specializing in prenatal and postpartum, her interest in therapeutics has led her to work with specific issues of the pelvic floor as well as general sports injuries and repetitive stress injuries with both women and men.

Jennifer has been teaching prenatal and baby and me yoga since 2002 with Baby Om, Mary Barnes, Yoga for Two (the Barnes Method) and at Virayoga in New York City. Kindness dwells deep down, residing everywhere, often in the places we least expect. Our experience of the world can
be harsh and negative; however, when we remain generous and patient, kindness inevitably reveals itself. Well-being from deep in the human soul seems to depend on the presence of kindness. Instinctively we expect kindness. Once we sense kindness, we are able to trust and to open ourselves.??EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN LIFE COMES TO YOU WHEN YOU BLESS IN KINDNESS.??Join us for healing, health, prosperity and love.??It’s simple!??We will experience the path of Blessing and Kindness.?

Gurmukh has been teaching yoga for three decades. She has gained worldwide recognition for her teaching style of Kundalini Yoga, and authored “The Eight Human Talents: The Yogic Way to Restoring the Natural Balance of Serenity Within You”, and “Bountiful, Beautiful, Blissful: Experience the Natural Power of Pregnancy and Birth with Kundalini Yoga and Meditation”.

This event includes Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, dancing and meditation with the gong.

As a lifelong dancer with a MFA in Dance Choreography and Performance and a BA in Philosophy, French Literature, and
Dance, Peyton continuously gravitates toward the study of movement, both of mind and body. Well-versed in anatomy and kinesiology from her graduate studies and guided by philosophical curiosity, her appreciation for yoga is ever yielding as she is continually struck by the effects of her practice in everyday life and the seamless manner by which yoga threads together our inner and outer journeys.

Peyton completed her 500hr Teacher Training at the Om Yoga Center and holds certifications in Prenatal and Restorative yoga (Cyndi Lee, founder of the Om Yoga Center). She teaches thoughtful organic sequences using subtle language to articulate precise alignment cues, hands-on adjustments to guide and deepen each student’s individual practice, and brings balance to her rigorous alignment-informed vinyasa class with pranayama, yogic philosophy, and a purposeful attention to music and sound. Embracing how yoga spills over from the studio and into other aspects of life, Peyton aims to bring students to a place grounded in strength and spaciously-open in mind, body and breath both on and off the mat.
