Our hot yoga takes on a healthier approach by reducing the humidity and air-borne contaminants. It still feels hot, but its not an extreme heat. The room is heated to body temperature 38 degrees. By reducing the humidity we can offer a safer, more enjoyable heat and style of class. It also allows us to offer great teachers with different styles of yoga. Melissa has been both a teacher and student of yoga for over 18 years. Her understanding, supportive and caring approach aids her students in bringing them to their highest ability level, both physically and emotionally in a safe and welcoming professional environment. Melissa's small classes (max.8) gives her students the support and attention, to help them master correctly the yoga postures. Melissa's classes include Asana, Pranayama and Meditation. This Winter (2014) we will be introducing "RESTORATIVE YOGA", "YOGA FOR THE AGING BODY" , "Plus Size Yoga" along with a variety of "Meditation Practices" including "Mindful Yoga and Meditation" to our schedule. We will still be holding classes in Sculpting Yoga which helps by putting gentle stress on the bones in order to strengthen them in combating osteoporosis. You also have the option of "CREATE YOUR OWN CLASS", with a minimum of 5 friends including yourself, you can pick your time and day and together with Melissa you can create what you want to accomplish from your yoga practice. Our YTT program is a comprehensive course approved by the Yoga Alliance. Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to become registered yoga teacher (RYT)at 200 hr level. Our curriculum is a nice blend of authentic knowledge of the east with the teaching styles of the west to make you a dynamic and confident yoga teacher. The course is suitable for both who want to become yoga teachers and wish to make their part/full time carrier or for those who want to get deeper understanding of the various components of the yoga practice with special focus on the philosophical part for their personal growth.
