Queen Street Yoga is a haven of sunshine, quiet, and wide open space in the heart of downtown Kitchener. Founded in
2005 by owner/director Meaghan Johnson, QSY has become known in the community for its alignment based approach to yoga. With beautiful wooden floors, high ceilings and a cozy meditation room, QSY is a place where people of varied demographics come together to learn and grow through the practices of yoga, meditation and creative arts.
We offer challenging and accessible, alignment based yoga at many different levels. Our teachers draw on their various studies in Anusara, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Kripalu to bring their students a rich and informed perspective on the practice of yoga. Our core commitment is to offer our students a diverse approach to the practice of yoga. Whether you are challenging yourself in a handstand or nurturing yourself in a restorative pose, our classes are designed to meet you in your practice and offer space to grow.
At the Self Centre we specialize in Ashtanga yoga.
Our classes focus on body and breath awareness.h
Ashtanga class can be a more vigorous routine, using a flowing sequence of postures to generate body heat, which purifies the body through sweating and deep breathing. Classes are modified for all student levels. Natasha infuses her decade long practice with her dance training for an invigorating yet focused experience. At the Self Centre we practice balance through movement and breath.
I teach from four styles - Iyengar, Sivananda, Kripalu and Ashtanga. My own unique blend of these styles results
in a yoga class with as much challenge as relaxation, strength as flexibility, body alignment as inner awareness. I enjoy helping people learn precision in each yoga pose, re-learning patterns of movement so they are moving from core strength and optimal alignment, the way bodies are originally designed to move. I guide a relaxation and meditation at the end of every class, helping people connect with a deeper awareness. I also teach children's and youth classes.
At Community of Hearts Yoga, we offer a safe, nurturing environment to explore the practices of yoga whether we wish
to heal an injury or awaken to our True essence. We strive to be vehicles for one another in a positive, uplifting environment to learn and grow as individuals as well as a community leading fulfilling lives.
Our technique is alignment based to ensure both safety and optimal flow of prana and fluids within the body. Our approach is one of light-heartedness to allow students to feel comfortable and at ease while gently guiding them toward their full potential. A variety of levels are offered to allow the student to choose the most appropriate level and type of class to meet their needs.

At the Breathe Into Motion Yoga Studios, we believe that yoga practice should be inclusive. To facilitate the needs
of every individual, we have different levels representing a progression of intensity, starting with Level 1. This allows those with injuries to recover over time, re-patterning movement skills and improving musculo-skeletal alignment, in a step-by-step instructional process. As one progresses from one level to the next, they are increasingly challenged with more difficult yoga postures, further improving core strength, flexibility and balance.

The target of Yoga is ‘svatantra’ ?which means to discover our own technique.‘Sva’ means itself and ‘tantra’ means
technique. The techniques are in oneself and we must discover them; if not we will depend on others. I am sick and I go to the doctor; but finally I must become my own therapist. This is ‘svatantra’.” TKV Desikachar
