We are a very light-hearted community and practice yoga for the health and wellness benefits, and as opportunity to have some fun with friends. We offer different temperature settings depending on the class description and layout of the class. Our Hot Classes are heated to 95F (35C) degrees using radiant heat panels, Our Warm classes are heated to 88F (28C) degrees using radiant heat panels. Our Unheated classes are set to an ambient temp of 70F (21C). We also offer an outdoor studio that is set in the woods and is fully screened in to keep the bugs away, this studio is normally used in the summer months and is weather dependent.
Our mission is to provide safe, fun and informed guidance in yoga for all walks of life without it being too serious.
In this process our role is to provide a non-competitive, comforting environment for you to find and deepen your practise. We believe there is a yoga practise for everyone; young or old; physically fit or not. Throughout good health or illness yoga can be modified to suit the individual. We encourage questions and lots of laughing. Our hope is that by giving you yoga on the mat, you will be able to take it with you into your everyday life and share it with those around you. There are many philosophies under the umbrella of yoga and we try to explore them all, however, one that seems always to come back into our classes is that of Lila (pronounced Lee-la). Lila is Sanskrit for Of Devine play. If we can practise playing on the mat then I believe we can come back to our true essence to that place of fresh curiosity in our bodies, in our mind and spirit and further into the world around us.
Kripalu Yoga can help you develop a healthy and strong body, an open and caring heart, and a clear and peaceful mind
through experiential education, awakening the capacity to learn from your direct experience. Kripalu Yoga is a Meditation in Motion practice that encourages learning to love, nurture and accept your body to facilitate self healing. It teaches you how to shift from the thinking centre to the feeling centre, freeing up the flow of energy in the body gently, patiently, not whipping it into shape.
