beauty and love in all types of yoga and teaches an eclectic, intuitive, and playful style of yoga honoring many traditions. Experiencing yoga as a path of self-discovery & creativity, Bethany often weaves The Work of Byron Katie, journaling, art, & thai massage into her yoga practice, workshops, and retreats.
Bethany is certified in the sacred healing art of Thai Yoga Bodywork (assisted yoga stretching, massage, acupressure, & reflexology). As a result, her classes are very hands-on, allowing students to go deeply inside their bodies, minds, and spirits while releasing any blockages along the way.
She has been a student of The Work of Byron Katie since 2009 and is currently loving the Certified Facilitator Training Program. The Work is a simple yet powerful process of identifying stressful thoughts and questioning them. Through this inquiry, also known as “Yoga of the Mind,” Bethany has realized life is beautiful just as it is ~ there is nothing to fix or change. Katie often asks, would you rather have a more flexible body or mind? Combining The Work & Yoga, Bethany creates an opportunity to explore both.
As an Artist, Bethany has discovered an intimate connection between art & yoga. She took her yoga practice to the canvas in 2007 when she found a bag of painting materials left in her attic. At that moment, “yogArt” was born and she continues to explore it through a personal practice of painting and sharing it with her students through yogArt therapy classes and workshops.
Her newest creation is Living Waters on Lake Travis, a retreat property nestled in the Hill Country of Texas, just outside of Austin. She has been blessed to not only live in this beautiful space, but to also offer her yoga & yogArt therapy classes, private retreats, & thai bodywork. She also continues her private practice in Dallas.
