Learn how to reduce stress, relax and improve your health through mantra meditation. Meditation will also help to clear your mind so you are more focused, aware and more in touch with yourself allowing you to have a more enhanced and less stressed life. We will explore the reasons why one should meditate and what brought us here. We will briefly discuss the history of mantra meditation and how it compares to other types of meditations. Each person will be assigned a mantra and we will meditate as a group. We will also practice some breathing exercises and relaxing postures that will enhance ones’ meditation practice. Though there is not any physical activity during this workshop, it is suggested you bring a Yoga mat or a blanket to sit on and a sweater or a hoodie to keep warm during our meditation practice. Instructor – Jasmin Cromwell. This class will take place at Seaholm High School. This class is offered through the Birmingham Community Ed department.
