Welcome to a meaningful and memorable yoga retreat that will have you totally relaxed and experiencing yoga in a heightened state of mindfulness, known as 3-D awareness.

Living mindfully, just like a commitment to "living one's yoga" rather than merely "doing yoga", means making an intentional choice to live life with purposeful attention without negative judgments and to cultivate an appreciation of each moment as it happens.

This week, we'll explore various techniques to enhance a state of mindfulness in our yoga practice, as well as in our daily lives.

What is mindfulness?

Most people who have tried yoga a few times have felt the benefit of mindfulness during the yoga practice, without fully understanding how they came to this state of mind or how to re-create it off the mat.

Mindfulness means being present in one’s life with full awareness, purposely attentive to what is going on in and around one self from moment to moment. Being mindful can help us to discover how to let go of fear and anxiety and be more accepting of life as it actually is – not as we want it to be.

Mindfulness techniques are not magic, though. The individual must be fully engaged in the process and dedicated to living life in a conscious and consistent way to benefit from mindfulness practices. By cultivating a conscious practice of mindfulness in yoga and other areas of our life, we learn to be at peace with the many challenges, changes and demands of life.

Daily: Mindful Meals - Developing Mindful Eating Habits

Specialized Yoga Program

-Sunday Afternoon - Welcome Circle with program introduction -Monday Morning - Introduction to daily sadhana; mindfulness in yoga with pranayama, warming & loosening exercises, classical sun salutation variations & asanas maintained with 3-D awareness -Tues - Mind Sound Resonance Technique - immersing the self in a sea of seed sounds -Wed - Mindfulness and Movement - meditative movements done consciously at a relaxing pace which help reinforce movement of energy through the meridians while relieving stress from mind & body -Thurs - Pranic Energization Technique - identifying & moving prana through body for healing effect -Friday - Pooja Ritual - a ceremony which acts as a profound cleansing process, involving mantra chanting and the making of an "offering" which cleanses the mind & atmosphere, and creates a fresh, clean slate in one's life.
