Our 200-hour teacher training provides each student with the skills to teach asana safely and effectively. But Yoga is more than asana practice. At The Yoga Connection we introduce each student to the underlying physical and mental benefits of yoga. You will learn not only the philosophy & practice of yoga but how yoga reduces stress in mind & body, it’s properties for physical & emotional healing, and positive effect on healthy lifestyle behavior. This program is excellent for students who would like to become teachers; students who wish to extend their knowledge of yoga; and for health professionals seeking to incorporate yoga into their work with clients. Martha Catz combines her Masters in Health Psychology with 700 hours of yoga therapy training, and her training as an Integrative Health coach to bring a full, well rounded experience to the program. We teach asana as dynamic and static, modification of asana, use of props, designing a yoga class, and expose the student to yin, senior and prenatal yoga. Our guest speakers discuss the issues of contraindications, nutrition, body systems (conventional and ayruvedic), marketing and advertising. We believe in having plenty of time within the training for you to practice teaching with your peers in a constructive and nurturing environment.
